Suspects use a knife and a dumbbell in two unrelated Aggravated Battery arrests; Weekend incident report

   Arrested: Anna M. Rhodes, 32, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of South Vista Avenue and West Canal Street Friday, October 4th, at approximately 9:00 p.m. The adult male victim tells police the suspect came up from behind him and shoved him. According to witnesses, the suspect then produced a knife in one hand and a rock in the other, before  attempting to strike the victim with both objects. The victim blocked the strikes and witnesses called 911. When officers arrived, the suspect refused to obey commands and physically resisted officers attempts to restrain her. Officers recovered the knife and the rock. The suspect and the victim are not known to each other and what prompted the attack is not clear. The victim was not seriously injured in the incident. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-907. Aggravated battery defined. (1) A person commits aggravated battery who, in committing battery: (a)Causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement; or (b)Uses a deadly weapon or instrument;

   Arrested: Ryan J. Taylor, 25, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight at a residence on the Boise bench Sunday, October 6th, at approximately 6:00 a.m. The adult male victim tells police the two men became involved in an argument over an ongoing dispute at the home. The dispute became physical and, according to witnesses, at one point the suspect struck the victim in the head with a 5 pound dumbbell weight. The victim sustained what appeared to be non life threatening injuries at the time. The suspect and the victim are well known to each other. After a detailed investigation into the incident the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jesse L. Bacorn, 29, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), 2 counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon While Intoxicated (m)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane by crossing the center lane divider and nearly striking a curb early Sunday morning, October 6th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers stopped the driver near Broadway Avenue and West Highland Street. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had two prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. During an inventory of the suspect's vehicle, officers located two handguns within reach of the driver, resulting in the Concealed Weapons charges. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Hollis R. Allen Jr., 33, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Driving Without Privileges (DWP)(m)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal and conduct an illegal lane change early Sunday morning, October 6th, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Officers stopped the driver near South 3rd Street and West Grove Street. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect was currently suspended from driving and had two prior convictions for DUI, making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Thomas M. Reynolds, 55, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Malicious Harassment (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Malicious Harassment yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into actions committed by the suspect beginning in 2010.  Evidence indicates the suspect, who is known to the victim, repeatedly, and with the intent to intimidate, engaged in verbal and other acts of intimidation toward the victim. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant. Further inquires into this case should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

   Arrested: Phillip F. Canedy, 37, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Petit Theft (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress in a parking lot on the 10000 block of West Fairview Avenue early Sunday afternoon, October 6th, at approximately 1:00 p.m. The calling party tells police he witnessed the suspect break the window on a parked car and take items from inside. Officers located the suspect and retrieved a pair of ski boots that had been taken from the vehicle. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: George W. Roper, 27, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Burglary (F), Theft by Possession of Stolen Goods (F)

   Warrant Charges: Domestic Battery (m)

    Boise Police contacted the suspect about an active warrant for his arrest outside a residence in the North end Saturday, October 5th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. As the suspect was taken into custody, officers recovered two plastic baggies containing approximately 5 grams total package weight of meth from the suspect's backpack. Officers also located a handgun that had been stolen from a residence in Boise last month. After a detailed investigation into the stolen handgun and drugs, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Cameron G. Eisenbarth, 18, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Minor in Possession of Alcohol (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a burglary at a residence in West Boise Friday, October 4th, at approximately 11:45 a.m. Officers who responded to the call located the suspect in a vehicle near the home. During the course of the investigation officers located personal items in the suspect's vehicle that had been taken from inside the residence. As officers conducted the investigation, a Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. Officers located a small amount of marijuana, alcohol, and items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications )(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol late Friday night, October 4th, at approximately 11:50 p.m. observed a vehicle conduct two illegal lane changes near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Chinden Boulevard. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 named "Turk" alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 1 gram total package weight of meth, eleven Oxycodone prescription pills, 4 methadone prescription pills, 1 Clonazepam prescription pill and a glass pipe with Meth residue. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Anita P. Gouge, 46, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

   Boise Police on patrol late Sunday evening, October 6th, at approximately 10:30 p.m. observed an adult female with a bike near the loading docks of a closed business at West Front Street and North 16th Street. The officer contacted the suspect and determined she was currently on probation. The suspect gave consent to search her purse and officers located a plastic bag containing a small amount of meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jamie A. Roper, 54, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

    Warrant Charges: Contempt of Court (m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the North End of Boise Saturday Afternoon, October 5th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. As officers investigated the report of a fight at the home they determined the suspect had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on Contempt of Court charges. A search of the suspect's person revealed a container with approximately 8 grams total package weight of meth inside. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Ileana, J. San Soucie, 51, Boise

  Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 6500 block of South Federal Way yesterday, October 6th, at approximately 10:40 a.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect select items and leave the store without paying for them. The suspect was detained and the stolen items recovered. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. 

   The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.

  Arrested: Lisa A. McClanahan, 30, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 3100 block of West Overland Road Friday, October 4th, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal several items in a bag while inside the store. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
