Officers need your help in overnight hit and run fatal crash

Boise, October 4th 2013 - Boise Police are investigating what appears to be a hit & run that left one man dead on West State Street and North Collister Drive early this morning.

What Happened: At this time, evidence gathered by officers at the scene indicates a man was crossing the street on foot in the right westbound lane on State Street just east of Collister Drive when he was struck by a pickup. The incident took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning, October 4th. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle left the scene and has not yet been identified.

Officers began an immediate search of the area but did not locate the suspect vehicle.

Suspect vehicle description: The vehicle may be a light gold colored smaller pickup, possibly mid to late 90's Ford Ranger type pickup truck. The vehicle will most likely have damage to the front.  

The incident remains under investigation, additional information will be released as it's appropriate for the investigation.
