Arrested: Michael J. Russell, 57, Boise
Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)
Boise Police on patrol responded to a citizen report of a possible drunk driver in the area of Willow Lane and West State Street last night, October 16th, at approximately 10:00 p.m. The citizen provided the license plate and a detailed description of the suspect vehicle. Officers located the suspect, still inside the vehicle, behind the Boise Police Willow Lane Substation located at 4419 West Willow Lane. The suspect had driven the Subaru Legacy passenger car over the curb, onto the grass, and high-centered the car behind the building. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, refused to perform field sobriety tests and blew a .29/.30. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had two prior convictions for DUI in 2005 and 2006, making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
Warrant Arrested: Tyler J. Deal, 26, Meridian
Warrant Charges: Issuing Checks Without Funds (F)
The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for issuing checks without funds early this morning.
The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a check issued by the suspect to purchase several pieces of heavy duty construction equipment valued at more than $6,000.00 in February of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect presented the check as payment to the victim when the account it was written on contained less than $5.00 in available funds. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
