Citizen call helps officers located wanted suspect; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Shane R. Lasater, 20, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    Warrant Charges: Failure to Appear (m)

   Boise Police responded to a citizen report of a wanted person Saturday afternoon, October 26th, at approximately 1:45 p.m. A concerned citizen recognized the suspect and contacted police to report his location. Using information provided by the calling party, officers located the suspect in a parking lot on the 4000 block of West Overland Road. Officers confirmed through Boise City Records that the suspect had a current warrant for his arrest on Failure to Appear charges. A search of the suspect's person revealed a plastic baggie containing a small amount of meth and a straw with meth residue on it. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Kevin M. Mays, 28, No Known Address

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    Warrant Charges: Fugitive to Idaho (F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle driving West on Overland Road near South Phillippi Street without license plates or a temporary registration early Sunday morning, October 27th, at approximately 5:06 a.m. Officers stopped the driver near South Phillippi Street and Bel Air Street. Officers recognized the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage when they approached the vehicle. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest out of South Dakota, resulting in the Fugitive to Idaho charge. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .14/.13. Officers observed a plastic baggie containing a small amount of marijuana in the front passenger area and located wrapping papers used to make marijuana cigarettes. Officers also located a partially burned marijuana cigarette in the vehicle. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
