Charged: DUI (F)

Boise Police were called just before midnight Tuesday, Sept. 17th by the driver of a tow truck who can been dispatched to help a woman change a tire on an SUV stopped just south of Federal Way on the on-ramp to South Broadway Avenue. The tow driver told officers the tire could not be changed because the front right corner of the vehicle had been damaged. The tow driver also noticed the woman smelled of alcohol. The man told officers he feared the woman had been in a crash and was possibly driving while intoxicated so he called police. Officers conducted a DUI investigation which led to Hughes arrest. A breath test showed a .207/.206 BrAC. Officers found this was the suspect's third DUI arrest, with the last two convictions for DUI in November and February, 2011. Officers also found last nights arrest was the suspect's second enhanced DUI, meaning a blood alcohol level of .20 or higher. Hughes was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.
