Suspect arrested on lewd conduct warrant charges; Daily incident report

   Warrant Arrested: Sterling E. Burton, 72, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Lewd Conduct with a Child Under 16 (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Lewd Conduct yesterday.

    The warrant arrest comes after a detailed investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact that reportedly took place on more than one occasion over the last year. The incident was reported to Boise Police in April of this year. Evidence indicates the conduct took place in a Boise home. The suspect, who was under the age of ten at the time, is well known to the victim. The investigation into this case continues. No further information is available. Further inquires into this case should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

   Arrested: Ronald F. Rand, 63, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    Boise Police received a report of repeated theft from a business on the 6300 block of West Overland Road on August 26th of this year. The owner of the store tells police that over the last seven months more than $30,000.00 in merchandise and money has been taken from the store. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that the suspect, who was an employee at the time, had taken cash and merchandise from the store. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Steven E. Roberts the 3rd, 42, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Arson (F)

     The suspect was transferred from Louisiana to face charges on an outstanding felony warrant for Arson yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a fire set at a Boise home on the 5800 block of West Randolph Drive on September 1st of last year. During the course of the investigation detectives obtained evidence that indicates the suspect was involved in setting the fire in the home. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant. No further information is available in this case. Further inquiries should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

  Arrested: Shellie R. Hurst, 35, Boise

  Charges: Burglary (F), Probation Violation Charges (m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 400 block of North Milwaukee Street yesterday, August 28th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect select a backpack and then leave the store without paying for the item. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on Probation Violation charges. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.

   Warrant Arrested: Jerome L. Jason, 21, Caldwell

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary and Probation Violation yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of a money transfer card from a retail store on the 7300 block of West Franklin on January 13th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft of the card, later used to obtain cash. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
