Threats with a kitchen knife end in Aggravated Assault arrest; Weekend incident report

   Arrested: Kenneth J. Boyink, 50, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in southeast Boise Sunday, July 28th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. The victim, who is well known to the suspect, tells police he became involved in a dispute over property at the residence. At one point, the victim tells police the suspect produced a large kitchen knife and threatened him. The victim tells police he feared for his life. According to witnesses, the suspect came at the victim aggressively with the knife pointed at him as he fled the home. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905. Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

   Arrested: Donnie T. Capers, 38, No Known Address

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Probation Violation Charges (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a trespasser at a motel on the 2300 block of West Airport Way Friday afternoon, July 26th, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Employees tell officers the suspect was not a guest at the hotel and wanted him to leave. When officers contacted the suspect they determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on Probation Violation charges. A search of the suspect's person revealed a glass pipe with meth residue, three prescription Morphine pills and five prescription Dilaudid pills. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that indicates the suspect had been involved in the sale of the prescription controlled substances. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Grant Duncan Scott Hill, 27, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (Excessive)(DUI)(F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle speeding and crossing the yellow center line near West State and Alamosa Street Sunday, July 28th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had two prior convictions for DUI in 2006 and 2009, making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Randall L. Menges, 37, Boise

   Charges: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (F)

    Boise Police received a citizen call that indicated the suspect had not registered as a sex offender since moving to Boise more than a week ago. Boise Police contacted the suspect at his new residence on the 8000 block of West Brynwood Drive in Boise on Saturday, July 27th, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Evidence indicates the suspect failed to notify Ada County Idaho or the Tacoma Washington authorities about the change of address. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Glenn D. Mcphail Jr, 32, Mountain Home

   Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of funds from a Boise restaurant in March of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect, who was an employee at the time, used his position to obtain more than $2,000.00 in funds from the business. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

   Warrant Arrested: Adam J. Christianson, 24, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft Saturday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of funds from a Boise bank that took place in February of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect, who was an employee at the time, used his position to obtain more than $1,000.00 in funds from the business. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

   Arrested: Alexander I. Collins, 22, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Fraudulent Use of a Financial Transaction Card (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fraud in progress at a business on the 600 block of East Boise Avenue Sunday, July 28th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Employees in the store tell police the suspect was attempting to purchase an I-pad using a stolen credit card. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that indicates the suspect had completed the same transaction and obtained a second I-pad at another store an hour earlier. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Heath R. Carpenter, 27, No Known Address

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 3600 block of West State Street Friday, July 26th at approximately 3:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect select several items, including a hat, beer, and food items, before leaving the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect a short time later across the street from the store wearing the hat and carrying some of the stolen items. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Kristina M. Smith-Mcsweeney, 31, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a request for assistance from Idaho Probation and Parole agents in Boise Friday, July 26th at approximately 1:30 p.m. The suspect, who was attending a meeting with the parole agents, indicated she had been involved in a theft at a retail store on the 10,000 block of West Overland Road earlier that morning. Evidence indicates the suspect entered the store and selected multiple items before leaving the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
