Possession of a Controlled Substance and Grand Theft arrests; Daily incident report

    Arrested: Michael K. Treadway, 48, No Known Address

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol yesterday morning observed several individuals in the alley on the 1600 block of West River Street. As officers approached the group, they observed a glass pipe sticking out of the suspect's waist band. A search of the suspect's person revealed a glass pipe with marijuana residue in it and a prescription morphine pill with no documentation. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Timothy P. Barth, 32, Garden City

   Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a stolen diamond taken from the victim's residence in Boise on December 10th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect, who is known to the victim, sold the ring shortly after the theft to obtain cash. The diamond is valued at more than $1,000.00 That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

Theft is divided into two (2) degrees, grand theft and petit theft. (1)Grand theft. (b)A person is guilty of grand theft when he commits a theft as defined in this chapter and when:1.The value of the property taken exceeds one thousand dollars ($1,000);
