Injury to a Child and Enticing of a Child arrests; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Mark J. Day, 34, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Injury to a Child (F), Parole Violation charges (m)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn on the 400 block of South Vista Avenue Saturday, May 18th, at approximately 11:00 a.m. and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .23/.22 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. At the time of the stop, the suspect had a child under the age of ten in the vehicle resulting in the Injury to a Child charge. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 15 CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS 18-1501. Injury to children. (1) Any person who, under circumstances or conditions likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of such child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits such child to be placed in such situation that its person or health is endangered, is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one (1) year, or in the state prison for not less than one (1) year nor more than ten (10) years.

   Warrant Arrested: Steven V. Carlson, 28, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Child Enticement (m)

     The suspect was taken into custody at his residence on North Hartman Street on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for Child Enticement last night.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into an incident that took place in an alley near North Hartman Street and Fairview Avenue on May 13th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in offering illegal drugs and alcohol to a juvenile female if she would visit him at a house. The victim reported the incident to police. Officers conducted a detailed investigation into the incident and identified the suspect as the man involved.  That investigative information was forwarded to the Boise City Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the misdemeanor warrant. 

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 15 CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS 18-1509. Enticing of children.(1) A person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor if that person attempts to persuade, or persuades, whether by words or actions or both, a minor child under the age of sixteen (16) years to either: (a) Leave the child's home or school; or(b) Enter a vehicle or building; or (c) Enter a structure or enclosed area, or alley, with the intent that the child shall be concealed from public view; while the person is acting without the authority of (i) the custodial parent of the child, (ii) the state of Idaho or a political subdivision thereof or (iii) one having legal custody of the minor child. Nothing contained in this section shall be construed to prevent the lawful detention of a minor child or the rendering of aid or assistance to a minor child. (2) Every person who is convicted of a violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished by imprisonment in the county or municipal jail for not more than six (6) months or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by both such fine and imprisonment. A person convicted a second or subsequent time of violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a felony and shall be punished by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a period of time of not more than five (5) years.

    Arrested: Jackson B. Furey, 23, Eagle

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to maintain its lane, driving into the gutter and crossing the divider line, near South Broadway and Boise Avenue early Sunday morning, May 20th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Officers stopped the driver near South Broadway and West Dundee Street. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .26/.26 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Adam J. Fuller, 43, Boise

   Visual Charges: , Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police received a citizen report of a suspicious vehicle parked near Pierce Park and Autumn Wood Street early this morning, May 20th, at approximately 1:30 a.m. As officers approached the vehicle they found the suspect in the back seat of the car. Officers identified the suspect and determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on burglary charges. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of meth, marijuana pipes, marijuana and crushed prescription pills. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Michael F. Garcia, 21, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of a bottle of prescription medications from a pharmacy on the 7100 block of State Street on January 24th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect jumped the counter at the pharmacy on that date and stole a bottle of prescription hydrocodone pills. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant. Further inquiries into this case should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

   Arrested: Edward D. West, 52, No Known Address

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

   Warrant Charges: Probation Violation Charges (m)

    Boise Police observed a truck parked behind a closed business in an alley between 14th and 15th Streets near Front and Grove early yesterday morning, May 19th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Officers observed the door was wide open and the license plates did not match the vehicle. As officers contacted the driver they determined he had outstanding warrants for his arrest on Probation Violation charges. A search of the vehicle revealed a glass pipe containing a small amount of meth. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Steve N. Watton, 39, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    Boise Police arrested Steve Watton Friday, May 17th, following a detailed investigation into the theft of jewelry from a Boise residence that took place in February of this year. Officers have evidence that indicates the suspect, who is well known to the victim, stole jewelry from the victims home and sold it to obtain cash. The items are valued at more than $1,000.00. Following a detailed investigation into the theft the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Michael P. Arellano, 24, Boise

   Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F), Trespassing (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person who refused to leave a bar on the 4000 block of West State Street Friday night, May 17th, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect refused to leave after being told repeatedly to do so. Shortly before officers arrived witnesses say the suspect walked out into the parking lot and threw a rock through a large double paned window. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
