Calls from concerned citizens lead to two different Felony DUI Arrests; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Valerie E. King, 56, Sun Valley 

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police received a citizen report of a possible drunk driver near State and 15th Street Friday evening, May 10th at approximately 7:30 p.m. The calling party told police the suspect vehicle was seen driving into oncoming traffic. Officers located the vehicle and observed the driver run a red light before stopping in the intersection, then back up in the middle of the road. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .25/.24 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Michael R. Wiley, 53, Garden City

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police and emergency personnel received a citizen report of a possible drunk driver on the 3800 block of North Mountain View Court Sunday afternoon, May 12th at approximately 1:30 p.m. The calling party tells police an adult male was sitting in a parking lot revving the engine on his vehicle. When the citizens approached the vehicle they observed the driver slumped over the steering wheel unconscious. The witnesses tell police called to the driver, who was unresponsive. The witnesses say they attempted to wake the driver by shaking him and he still did not respond. Fire and Paramedics responded to the scene and managed to revive the driver. The suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance other than alcohol, showed signs and symptoms of extreme impairment. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was taken into custody. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Cindy L. Eckenberg, 53, No Known Address

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police responded to a request for assistance from TSA personnel at the Boise airport security checkpoint Sunday evening, May 12th, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Evidence indicates the suspect had attempted to pass through the security check point with a vial containing a small amount of Meth. Officers also recovered a pipe. After a detailed investigation into the incident the suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Payton L. Snyder, 20, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8000 block of West Overland Road Sunday, May 12th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal multiple items including dvd movies and video game accessories, then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. a search of the suspect's person revealed a prescription Ketoralac pill the suspect did not have documentation for. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.

   Arrested: Todd M. Crompton, 48, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F), Probation Violation (m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 2000 block of South Cole Road Friday, May 10th, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal a GPS navigation device and a camera, then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
