Passed out driver leads to Felony DUI arrest; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Kelly L. Baker, 38, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police responded to a citizen report of an unconscious driver stopped in the road on the 2300 block of Spring Mountain Drive early Saturday morning, April 27th, just after midnight. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, was passed out behind the wheel with the vehicle running in the street when he was located. The suspect failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .17/.18 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Edward A. Pruett, 46, Boise

   Charges: Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an injury collision that had taken place near the intersection of Cole Road and Ustick Road Saturday, April 27th, at approximately 11:24 a.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect was driving a truck when he struck the victim, a teenage male under the age of 16, who was riding a bicycle. Witnesses say the collision took place as the bicycle rider was crossing a parking lot exit on the sidewalk and the truck was beginning to pull out onto the street. According to witness statements, the suspect stopped and exited his vehicle before yelling something at the teenager. Witnesses tell police they yelled to the suspect to stop, police had been called, but the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. Officers, using information provided by witnesses, located the suspect at a Boise home. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be minor injuries at the time. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Martin Navarro, 30, Nyssa OR. 

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Providing False Information to Police

    Warrant Charges: Failure to Appear warrant out of Canyon County (F)

    Arrested: Maria E. Salinas, 39, Ontario OR. 

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

   Boise Police contacted Martin Navarro and Maria Salinas at a restaurant on the 4800 block of West Overland as part of an ongoing investigation Sunday evening, April 28th, at approximately 10:00 p.m. As officers contacted the suspect he provided false identifying information to police. Officers determined the suspect had a current warrant for his arrest out of Canyon County on Failure to Appear charges. During a search of the suspect's person officers located a pipe with meth residue on it, a package with approximately 1 gram total package weight of meth and a package with approximately 9 grams total package weight of marijuana. As officers contacted the suspects, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on their vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a container with meth residue inside belonging to Maria Salinas. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Seth M. Sargent, 19, Nampa

   Charges: Burglary (F), Possession of Burglary Tools (m), Probation Violation Charges (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a Burglary at a retail store on the 8100 block of West Overland Road Sunday afternoon, April 28th, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Store employees tell police the suspect entered the store and used a pair of wire cutters to cut a security cable holding a cellular phone to a display case. When the suspect was confronted by employees, he ran to a nearby store and attempted to hide from officers. When the suspect was located he still had the phone with the security device attached to it and a pair of wire cutters. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Philip H. Powers IV, 40, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 5200 block of West Franklin Road Sunday, April 28th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal several items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
