Boise Police responded to a citizen report of possible illegal activity in a parking lot on the 7900 block of West Overland Road yesterday, April 11th, at approximately 9:30 a.m. As officers approached the vehicle, a male exited the car and officers observed smoke coming out of the doorway. Officers instructed the man, later identified as Curtis Benavidez, to sit down on the curb next to the car. As the passenger, later identified as Mart Turner, exited the car, Benavidez grabbed the door next to him, locked the doors and shut the door. An Ada County K-9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately one and a half ounces of meth, glass pipes, syringes and cotton balls in the vehicle. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that indicates the suspects intended to sell the controlled substance.    Warrant Arrested: Maricar J. Jacoba, 27, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a burglary at a retail store that took place on October 11th of last year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft of prescription medications from a pharmacy on the 3600 block of West State Street on that date. The suspect was later identified as part of a detailed investigation. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
