Drug possession and burglary arrests; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Richard L. Mcdowell, 38, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Driving Without Privileges (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol late Friday night, April 19th, at approximately 11:30 p.m. observed a vehicle fail to signal a lane change near Boise Avenue and Beacon Street and conducted a traffic stop. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect was currently suspended from driving. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 named "Turk" alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple pipes used to smoke narcotics and a baggie containing approximately one gram total package weight of meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Sanrda L. Biser, 33, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Possession of Marijuana (m)

   Boise Police on patrol Sunday, April 21st, at approximately 7:00 p.m. observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign at Latah at Nez Perce Street and conducted a traffic stop. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag belonging to the suspect, who was a passenger in the vehicle. The bag contained several prescription pills the suspect did not have documentation for, a plastic bag containing a small amount of meth, a glass pipe containing marijuana residue and other items of drug paraphernalia. The suspect, who was the passenger in the vehicle, was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Michael J. Sanders, Mesa AZ.

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8100 block of West Franklin Sunday, April 21st, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect remove items from the packaging and conceal them before leaving the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the program is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.

  Arrested: John E. Luna, 50, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 3500 block of South Federal Way Sunday, April 21st, at approximately 6:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal two beers in his pants before leaving the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Joshua J. Baker, 23, Eagle

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 400 block of Milwaukee Street Friday, April 19th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal merchandise before leaving the store without paying for it. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
