Boise Police responded to an emergency call for assistance Friday, April 5th at 11:34 a.m. to a retail store on the 1700 block of University Dr. The call was for an armed man who had just stolen books from the store. As officers were responding, a store employee remained on the phone with police dispatchers advising they were following the suspect and providing his location for responding officers. Officers quickly found the suspect and he was taken into custody. Investigating officers soon found evidence the suspect entered the store with the intent to steal books to return them for cash. Officers also learned that as the suspect was leaving the store, he was confronted by two employees. The suspect reportedly pulled a knife and verbally threatened one of the employees before walking away. The suspect, Elwell was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Boise Police arrested the suspect Friday morning, April 5th at his home in Boise on a warrant for the above charges. These charges are connected and in addition to this suspect's arrest on March 8, 2013 for rape. Further investigation by Boise Police and Ada County Prosecutors has resulted in additional charges that now involve two victims, both known to the suspect. The cases involve incidents that reportedly occurred in March of this year and one reported to Boise Police in 2011. The victims in this case are receiving support assistance through the Boise Police Department Victim Services Unit. Boise Police were called Friday night at 11:28 by witnesses who overheard an argument between two men in a parking lot of the 1000 block of W. Grove Street. Witnesses reported the argument involved a knife. Officers arrived and found evidence the suspect had held a knife in a threatening manner toward the victim, an adult male and reportedly an acquaintance of the suspect. The victim also reported the suspect had taken cash from him prior to the argument, resulting in the petit theft charge. During booking, the suspect was found to be in possession of a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana. The suspect is currently booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Boise Police were called to a vehicle burglary in North Boise Wednesday, April 3, 2013 where the victim reported someone had gotten into an unlocked car and stole a purse containing identification and credit cards. Officers investigated and were able to identify a suspect based on the use of the stolen credit card at two local retailers following the theft. On Friday morning, April 5th, Boise Police patrol officers stopped a vehicle�at W. Overland and S. Curtis Roads�for expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspect, Raymond Smith. He was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges. The suspect remains under investigation following evidence he may be connected to several other burglaries involving unlocked parked vehicles.
Arrested: Eddie Duane Williams, Jr, 31, Boise
Charged: Burglary - 3 counts(F), Grand Theft - 3 counts (F)
Boise Police arrested the suspect at his place of work Friday afternoon, April 5, 2013 in connection with thefts reported from three downtown Boise businesses. The thefts were reported between Dec. 27, 2012 and Jan. 21, 2013. The thefts all appeared to involve forced entry into the businesses, with items stolen including lap top computers, TV's and other electronics. Boise Police property crimes detectives were developed leads that led to some of the stolen items being found in the suspect's home. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on charges related to three separate burglaries. Officers continue to investigate this case.
