Suspects in custody following series of vandalism cases

Boise Police have arrested two men in connection with a series of felony vandalism's across the valley.

Arrested today: Devon J. Anderson, 21, Boise

Warrant Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F)

Arrested Friday in Canyon County: Tyler C. Bartlet, 20, Nampa

Warrant Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F)

What happened: Starting approximately three weeks ago officers received more than 90 reports of vandalism from victims in Boise neighborhoods. Officers have now determined the suspects used slingshots and steel marbles in the majority of the crimes. Evidence indicates the suspects were involved in breaking windows on parked vehicles, homes and other targets late at night or early in the morning.

Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers and Property Crimes Detectives identified the suspects as part of a detailed ongoing investigation. Officers have evidence that indicates the suspects are involved in similar vandalism reports received in Canyon County and Ada County. The damage to vehicles and other property is estimated to exceed $30,000.00.

"This is an expensive crime, but there is an additional cost to the innocent victims who discovered their vehicles have been damaged for no apparent reason," says neighborhood contact officer Terry Weir. "Boise is a family oriented community and this kind of random senseless crime really effects our neighborhoods."

After a detailed investigation into the incidents, warrants were issued for the arrest of the two suspects. Tyler Bartlet was arrested in Canyon County on Friday March 15th. Devon Anderson was taken into custody today in Ada County on the same charge.

Further inquires into this case should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
