Battery on an Officer, Possession of Child Porn; BPD Weekend Incident Report

Arrested: Christopher D. Baay, 37, Boise

Charged: DUI (F)

A Boise Police officer on patrol Sunday, Feb. 10th at 2:26 a.m. was traveling westbound on W. Emerald Street in a 30 mph zone when the driver of a vehicle traveling the same direction quickly caught up to the officer's patrol car then made an illegal right turn from the through lane onto N. Curtis Rd. The vehicle pulled into a parking lot and stopped. The officer caught up to the driver as he had just gotten out of the vehicle. The officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver, identified as Baay, and could see his eyes were glassy and bloodshot and his speech was slurred. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI. The suspect blew a BAC of .206/.194. The officer checked with records and found the driver was convicted of DUI-Excessive in July, 2011 making this arrest a felony.

Arrested: Kimberly S. Baker, 24, Boise

Charged: Grand Theft (F)

Boise Police arrested the suspect Friday, February 8th at her home near S. Latah St and Pershing Dr. on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was the result of a Boise Police investigation that began in early December, 2012 regarding a check reported stolen and cashed.  The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim. The police investigation was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutors Office. The warrant for the suspect was issued February 6th.

Arrested: Carmen C. Brashers, 22, Pine, ID

Charged: Battery on a Police Officer (F), Public intoxication (m), Resisting & obstructing officers (m)

Two Boise Police officers on foot patrol Saturday night at 11:08 p.m. on S. Capitol Blvd and W. Main Street were approached by a taxi cab driver who pulled up on the street next to the officers. The cab driver told of the officers the woman in the back of his cab was refusing to pay her fare of $47.90. Officers spoke with the woman and found she had no means to pay the fare and she appeared intoxicated. She began to run away from the officers. When the officers tried to stop her she resisted and bit one of the officers in the leg. She was arrested on the above charges and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Arrested: Andy J. Brent, 21, Boise 

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance-Oxycodone (F), Providing false information to police (m)

A Boise Police officer on patrol near N. Hartman and Everett Streets in Boise early this morning, Feb 11th at 12:41 a.m. witnessed the driver of a red Jeep turn without using a signal and making the turn wide into the oncoming lane of travel. The officer stopped the vehicle. The driver could not provide identification and verbally identified himself with a name that officers soon learned was false. As the suspect was taken into custody for providing false information, officers found him in possession of a small container with several pills identified to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride. The suspect was booked into the Ada County jail on the above charges.

Arrested: Jeffrey C. Collins, 43, Boise

Charged: Aggravated Assault (F)

Boise Police were called to a fight with a weapon at a home near W. Rose Hill and S. Roosevelt Streets Friday just before midnight. When officers arrived, they found evidence the suspect, Collins, had chased the victim and threatened the victim with a pair of needle nose pliers causing the victim for fear for his life. The victim and suspect are known to each other. Officers booked the suspect into the Ada County jail on the above charges.

Arrested: David L. Damon, 28, Cambridge, ID

Charged: Possession of Sexually Exploitive Material (F)

Boise Police detectives with the ICAC Task Force arrested the suspect early Friday morning, Feb. 8th at a Boise home. The Boise detectives were following a lead developed by ICAC investigators. The suspect was found to be in possession of downloaded images of child pornography on his computer. Officers arrested the suspect and booked him into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Alec W. Ingram, 22, Boise

Charged: Aggravated Assault (F), Disorderly conduct (m) 

Boise Police were called at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10 by witnesses claiming a man was trying to climb up and enter an apartment on Clearwater Lane off E. Park Blvd. The suspect was known to residents of the apartment. After being confronted, witnesses told officers the suspect drove off. One of the witnesses followed the suspect vehicle in an attempt to provide officers with the suspect's location. At one point, a witness told officers the suspect turned around to drive the wrong way down W. Parkcenter Blvd in an attempt to hit the witness vehicle. The witness said he was fearful for his life and had to swerve to get out of the path of the suspect's oncoming vehicle. Officers were provided a description of the suspect's car and soon found the suspect driving on W. Fairview Ave near N. Allumbaugh St. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

Arrested: David L. Lee, 42, transient

Charged: Burglary (F)

A Boise Police officer on patrol stopped the suspect in a park near S. 15th and Front Streets early Friday shortly after midnight after the officer saw the suspect with an open container of alcohol. In talking with the suspect, the officer found evidence that a short time earlier the suspect stolen items including food and cigarettes from a nearby grocery store. The officer arrested the suspect on the above charge and booked him into the Ada County jail.

Arrested: Gregory V. Pettit, 46, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine (F)

Boise Police officers were called to a convenience store on the 2400 block of S. Vista Ave Saturday, Feb 9th shortly after 2:00 a.m. to check on a man witnesses said was acting strangely.  When officers arrived they saw a man matching the description running across the street and was almost hit by a passing taxi cab. Officers contacted the man who identified himself as Pettit. He appeared sweaty and paranoid and thought men were chasing him. The man told officers he was staying in a nearby motel. Officers gave him a courtesy ride back to the motel where, with the man's consent, they escorted him to his room. In the room officers saw in plain sight of a small small amount of a white crystalline substance. The substance field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamines.  The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Adam L. Sapien, 46, Boise

Charged: Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine (F) 

Boise Police were requested by officers with Probation and Parole to assist in a search of a home on the 8800 block of W. Pembrook Dr. Saturday, Feb. 9th, shortly after 10:00 p.m. The resident of the home, Sapien was on felony probation. During the search officers found a baggie containing a small amount of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for meth. The suspect Sapien was booked into the Ada County Jail without incident.

Arrested: Jeramiah A. Yeomans, 35, Boise

Charged: DUI (F)

A Boise Police officer on partol Saturday shortly before midnight on W. State Street observed the driver of a pickup truck fail to maintain his lane several times between N. Hertford Way and Bloom Streets. The officer stopped the vehicle. As the officer made contact with the driver he could see the driver's eyes were glassy and extremely bloodshot, his movements were very slow and lethargic and his speech was slurred. The officer identified the driver by an Idaho ID card. The driver was able to perform only one field sobriety test, which he failed. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. A blood draw was taken at the Ada County Jail for evidentiary purposes. The officer's report notes the suspect had two prior DUI convictions within the last ten years making this arrest a felony.
