Boise Police on patrol early this morning, January 11th, at approximately 4:00 a.m. observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn or stop before entering the roadway at Vista and Elder. Officers conducted a traffic stop and immediately noted the strong odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 named "Turk" alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 1.9 grams total package weight of meth, less than a gram of marijuana, a pipe and other items of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation, officers determined the suspect had been involved in the sale of the illegal substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

Warrant Arrested: Alex L. Prophet, 21, Boise

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into items stolen from a vehicle in a Boise neighborhood in January of 2012. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft of items, later sold to obtain cash. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
