Possession with Intent to Deliver and Felony DUI Arrests; Weekend incident report

    Arrested: Brandon J. Daun, 25, Pocatello

    Charges: Delivery of a Controlled Substance (marijuana)(F)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle parked behind a closed business near Overland Road and South Raymond Street late Friday night, January 11th, at approximately 11:30 p.m. As officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Brandon Duan, they noted the distinct odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a three separate packages of marijuana with a total combined package weight of approximately 23 grams. Officers also recovered a pipe, additional empty baggies and other items of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation officers obtained evidence that indicates the suspect was involved in the sale of the controlled substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Wesley P. Gilbert, 25, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a fight in the street near Pawnee Drive and Zuni street late Friday night, January 11th, at approximately 11:55 p.m. During the course of that investigation, officers located the suspect, who was a party to that incident, driving a pickup and conducted a traffic stop on Zuni Street east of Dalton Lane. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .30/.30 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The investigation into the fight did not result in any charges. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Jordan D. Spencer, 34, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a theft that had taken place earlier that morning on Saturday, January 12th, at approximately 9:00 a.m.  The victim tells police a roommate stole her credit card and used it to make purchases and obtain cash at a local merchant that morning. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Shellie R. Hurst, 34, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road Saturday, January 12th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal several items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal is to work with retailers and the Boise business community to reduce retail theft and fraud, crimes that have significant impacts on consumer prices.
