Citizen calls lead to vehicle burglary arrests; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Samuel J. Terry, 21, Starr

   Charges: Burglary (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), Probation Violation charges (F)

   Arrested: Chase B. Erickson, 21, Eagle

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Arrested: Dylan C. Reeder, 21, Eagle

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary that had just taken place in a parking near South Latah and West Alpine Streets early this morning, November 30th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. The calling party tells police he witnessed three suspects arrive in a vehicle and check the doors on several vehicles in the parking lot. According to the witness, the suspects managed to enter the last vehicle in the parking lot and rummaged through the car. When officers arrived the suspects had fled the scene.

   A short time later officers received a report of another vehicle burglary in progress on the 800 block of Maple Grove. The witness in this incident was able to provide dispatch with detailed vehicle information. Officers located the vehicle Northbound on Maple Grove and conducted a traffic stop. Officers quickly determined the driver, Samuel Terry, was on felony probation and a search of the vehicle revealed items taken in the burglary.  

   The driver, Samuel J. Terry, appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop. The suspect failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .17/.17 at the Ada County Jail.

After a detailed investigation all three suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Braden K. Tanikuni, 26, Nampa

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of an aggravated battery at a bar on the 100 block of South 6th Street last night, November 29th, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect was approached by employees of the bar because he had been flashing a knife in the bar. The employees tell police the suspect pulled out the knife and opened it in a threatening manner. The employee managed to wrestle the knife away from the suspect and he was detained until police arrived. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905. Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed suspects on foot behind a closed business on the 1100 block of South Five Mile Road early this morning, November 30th, at approximately 2:00 a.m. As officers approached the back of the building they made contact with the suspect sitting in a parked vehicle. Officers observed a pipe in plain sight on the center console of the vehicle. A Boise Police K-9 named "Turk" alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a glass pipe with Meth residue and several other items of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m) Agents Warrant/Parole Violation (F)

   Arrested: Timothy P. Shiffer, 58, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

   Boise Police assisted Idaho Probation and Parole agents on the search of a residence on the 2800 block of Cherry Lane yesterday, November 29th, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Officers located a glass pipe with Meth residue and other items of drug paraphernalia belonging to Brenda Ash in the home. Officers also recovered a small plastic baggy with a small amount of Meth on Timothy Shiffer's person. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jeffrey M. Groff-Ault, 20, Boise

    Charges: Grand Theft (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

     Boise Police received a report of items stolen from a Boise residence on November 10th of this year. The victim tells police several items, including firearms and electronics, had been stolen by a suspect who is known to him. Officers located the suspect yesterday, November 29th, at a parking lot on the 1600 West State. During the course of the investigation officers recovered a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia belonging to the suspect. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Romero D. Soliz, 18, Boise

  Charges: Burglary (F), Minor Consumption (m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a convenience store on the 1700 block of West State Street yesterday, November 29th, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect enter the store, select two bottles of alcohol and then proceed immediately out the front door making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. Employees detained the suspect until officers arrived. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident resulting in the Minor Consumption charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
