Traffic violations lead to felony drug arrests; Daily incident report

    Arrested: Shaun M. Friedley, 32, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m)

    Arrested: Ciera L. Burton, 23, Wilder

    Charges: Concealment of Evidence (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Possession of a Controlled Substance (prescription medications)(m)

   Boise Police on patrol last night, October 24th, at approximately 10:30 p.m. observed a vehicle with a registration violation and conducted a traffic stop on the 2300 block of West Airport Way. As officers contacted the driver, Shaun Friedley, they determined the passenger, Ciera Burton, was on probation. A search of the suspects revealed a prescription Hydrocodone pill in Ciera Burton's purse. Officers also recovered approximately 4 grams total package weight of marijuana and 4 grams total package weight of Meth on Shaun Friedley's person. Officers repeatedly asked the suspects if there were any other controlled substances on their persons as they were taken into custody. At the Ada County Jail, officers located a glass pipe hidden on Ciera Burton's person, resulting in the concealment charge. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 26 EVIDENCE FALSIFIED OR CONCEALED AND WITNESSES INTIMIDATED OR BRIBED 18-2603. Destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence. Every person who, knowing that any book, paper, record, instrument in writing, or other object, matter or thing, is about to be produced, used or discovered as evidence upon any trial, proceeding, inquiry, or investigation whatever, authorized by law, wilfully destroys, alters or conceals the same, with intent thereby to prevent it from being produced, used or discovered, is guilty of a misdemeanor, unless the trial, proceeding, inquiry or investigation is criminal in nature and involves a felony offense, in which case said person is guilty of a felony and subject to a maximum fine of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) and a maximum sentence of five (5) years in prison.

    Arrested: Jeremy N. Olson, 33, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Resisting or Obstructing (m)

   Boise Police on patrol last night, October 24th, at approximately 11:30 p.m. observed a vehicle conduct an illegal lane change and speeding near Overland and Orchard. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the 2300 block of South Orchard. As officers contacted the driver he became very agitated. At one point, the suspect was asked to exit his vehicle and he ran away on foot. After a brief foot chase, officers caught the suspect and he physically resisted being taken into custody. A search of the suspect's vehicle revealed a digital scale with Meth residue on it. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Douglas J. Wells Jr, 30, Nampa

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle driving the wrong way on 6th Street near Grove Street early this morning, October 25th, at approximately 2:00 a.m. The suspect driver, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .23/.25. A check through Boise City Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: James A. Depaoli, 21, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8200 block of West Fairview early this morning, October 25th, at approximately 4:00 a.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect select a 30 pack of beer and then leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Employees detained the suspect until officers arrived. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
