Boise, Oct. 8, 2012 - Boise Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at a thrift store in West Boise Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is being investigated as suspicious.
What Happened: Boise Firefighters were called at 2:47 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 7th after a passerby reported seeing smoke and fire coming from a structure on the corner of Auto Drive and W. Frankin Road. Firefighters were quickly able to put out the flames, however not before about a quarter of the structure was burned and the entire structure suffered smoke damage. During firefighting efforts, crews became concerned as a portion of the roof became unstable. Firefighters worked to protect themselves from the roof collapse as they worked to put out the fire.
Cause: Boise firefighters recognized the cause of the fire as suspicious. Boise Police investigators responded. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
