Warrant Arrested: Christopher R. Boeller, 49, Boise
Warrant Charges: Aggravated Battery (F), Aggravated Assault (F), Eluding (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m)
The suspect was taken into custody on multiple outstanding felony warrants yesterday.
The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on August 9th of this year. On that date officers responded to a citizen's report of a possible drunk driver at Vista Avenue and Kootenai. When officers arrived they witnessed the suspect vehicle stopped in the intersection with a flat tire. Officers pulled in behind the suspect's car and activated emergency lights and then siren as the driver, later identified as Chris Boeller, looked directly at officers and continued driving. The suspect vehicle was, swerving and almost struck the curb multiple times. As the suspect was driving away from officers, he intentionally drove at a bicyclist on the sidewalk, narrowly missing him. For the safety of the public, officers initiated a PIT maneuver and impacted the suspect vehicle, sending him it over the median. The suspect did not stop, instead he rapidly accelerated, driving the wrong way into traffic and intentionally struck another vehicle head on. The suspect refused orders to exit the vehicle and had to be physically removed from the vehicle by officers before being taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed a glass smoking pipe with a white residue, with suspected meth inside, located in his pants cargo pocket. Because the suspect was undergoing medical treatment, he was not arrested immediately following the incident. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
