Warrant Charges: Delivery of a Controlled Substance (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Delivery of a Controlled Substance yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into approximately 232 grams total package weight of marijuana discovered during a traffic stop on August 1st near Overland Road and South pacific Street in Boise. Evidence indicates the suspect was in possession of the controlled substance and officers have evidence that indicates the suspect intended to sell.     Arrested: Michael K. Nugent, 33, Rexburg

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Destruction of Evidence (F), Resisting or Obstructing (m), Driving Without Privileges (DWP)(m), Probation Violation charges

Boise Police on patrol early yesterday morning, September 4th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. observed a vehicle with canceled registration and conducted a traffic stop near State Street and Glenwood Street. Officers contacted the driver, Michael Nugent, and a check through Ada County Dispatch indicated he was currently suspended from driving. A search of the suspect's person following his arrest for DWP revealed a small plastic baggie containing approximately 1 to 2 grams total package weight of meth. At one point, the suspect managed to swallow the small baggie. Officers attempted to prevent the suspect, who actively resisted, from swallowing the substance. For the safety of the suspect he was transported to a local hospital where officers collected evidence for later testing and the suspect was observed by medical personnel. After being cleared by medical personnel, the suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
