Threat to stab employee elevates shoplifting to Aggravated Assault; Daily incident report

  Arrested: Anthony S. Field, 26, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F), Burglary (F), Felon in Possession of a Weapon (F), Probation Violation Charges (F)

  Arrested: Korena D. Heitzman, 19, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Road Monday July 30th at approximately 1:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspects conceal two air pistols in a handbag and attempt to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. A store loss prevention employee confronted the suspects about the theft. At one point, the victim, the loss prevention employee, tells police that Anthony Field threatened to stab him if he did not let them leave the store. The victim provided information that officers used to locate the suspects yesterday, August 1st. As they left a residence on the 3500 block of Woody Drive in a car, officers conducted a traffic stop and the suspects were taken into custody without further incident. After a detailed investigation, the suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905. Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm

   The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

    Arrested: James E. Wray, 37, Meridian

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police received a report of a possible drunk driver near Fairview and Milwaukee Streets yesterday evening, August 1st, at approximately 8:00 p.m. The reporting party indicated the suspect vehicle had been swerving in its lane and had nearly crashed into another car. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed a field sobriety test and refused to do further tests. The suspect blew a .18/.17  A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Joe A. Molyneux, 62, Emmett

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Forgery (F)

    Boise Police received a report of an embezzlement from a Boise business on July 20th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect, who is a former employee of the business, forged multiple checks and used them to obtain more than $19,000.00 from the company. Detectives determined the activity began in April of this year. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Destruction of Evidence (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Alteration of a Legal Identification card (m)

    Arrested: Colton R. Lambert, 24, Boise

    Charges: Frequenting a place where Drugs are Used or Sold (m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on foot observed suspects in the process of preparing to ingest drugs as they stood in the open doorway of a vehicle near North 5th Street and West Bannock Street early yesterday morning, August 1st, at approximately 2:30 a.m. As the suspects became aware of the officer standing near them, Shayne Howell attempted to dispose of the white powder they had been preparing in plain sight on the seat, by knocking it onto the floorboard of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a fake ID, a small amount of marijuana, a pipe, and a small amount of amphetamines on a book which the suspect had been using to prepare the drug when the officer first approached. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Travis G. Pennington, 18, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Arrested: Tyler A. Pennington, 20, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police arrested the two suspects after a detailed investigation into a burglary that took place at a convenience store on the 6500 block of South Federal Way on July 9th of this year. Officers have evidence that the two suspects, and a third juvenile suspect, entered the store on that date and stole three twelve packs of beer. Officers investigated the incident and later identified the suspects involved. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
