Theft from a construction site lands suspect in jail on Felony charges; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Richard L. Raines, 49, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Theft by Possession of Stolen Material (m)

    On Tuesday Boise Police received a report of a theft from a construction site at a subdivision on the 4300 block of South Epsilon Avenue that had taken place on Saturday, July 28th. The victim's tell police someone stole four orange metal caution signs and one roll of copper tubing from inside a building under construction, valued at more than a thousand dollars. At the time of the theft, a worker obtained the suspect's license plate. When officers located the suspect at a hotel in Garden City yesterday, they recovered the stolen signs. After a detailed investigaiton the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Trace A. Martin, 19, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 1500 block of West State Street yesterday, July 31st, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal a package of batteries and then leave the store without paying for it. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.
