Drug charges lead to Felony arrests; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Raul Garcia, 31, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), Injury to a Child (F), Probation Violation Charges (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police assisted Idaho Probation and Parole agents on the search of a residence on the 1700 block of South Phillippi Street yesterday morning, August 15th, at approximately 8:00 a.m. Inside the home officers recovered more than 300 Oxycontin tablets, a small amount of Meth and items of drug paraphernalia. Some of the pills were recovered from a child's shoe inside of a diaper bag. A child, less than one year old, who resides in the home was declared to be in imminent danger and turned over to the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 15 CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS 18-1501. Injury to children. (1) Any person who, under circumstances or conditions likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of such child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits such child to be placed in such situation that its person or health is endangered, is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one (1) year, or in the state prison for not less than one (1) year nor more than ten (10) years.

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle with a damaged bumper hanging down over the license plate last night, August 15th, just before midnight. As officers activated emergency lights to stop the vehicle, the suspect pulled into a private driveway on the 1700 block of West Bannock Street. When the vehicle came to a stop, the suspect jumped out and began to run on foot into a nearby alleyway. Officers repeatedly ordered the suspect to stop. After a brief foot pursuit, officers had to physically take the suspect into custody. A Boise Police K-9 named "Kamo" alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of Meth and foil with burned residue, used for ingesting the substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Steven J. Stevenson, 52, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Probation Violation Charges (m)

    Boise Police arrested the suspect yesterday after a detailed investigation into the theft of a high end bicycle that took place on July 28th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft of the victims place of work on the 100 block of South Lusk Street. Officers, working with citizen tips, recovered the bike from a local reseller and determined the suspect was involved in the theft. The bike is valued at more than $2,000.00. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
