Fight leads to felony arrest; Daily incident report

   Arrested: John E. Manning, 21, Transient

   Charges: Attempted Strangulation (F), Battery (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight at a residence on the 1700 block of West Bannock yesterday, July 5th, at approximately 2:00 a.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect had been involved in an ongoing dispute with an adult female. At one point, the victim tells police the suspect threw her onto a mattress in the yard and began to choke her. The victim tells police she scratched and kicked him. Witnesses who heard the victim's calls for help pulled the suspect off of the victim and held him until police arrived. Officers believe alcohol was a factor in this incident. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Travis E. Roach, 43, Caldwell

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in progress at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Redwood Court yesterday morning, July 5th, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Multiple witnesses tell police the suspect entered at least 3 vehicles and removed items. Officers located the suspect and recovered the stolen items from a nearby dumpster. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Christopher T. Waskoviak, 25, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a convenience store near the intersection of West Fairview and North Liberty Street early yesterday morning, July 5th, at approximately 5:00 a.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect drove a pickup to the store parking lot and went inside. While in the store, the suspect became involved in a verbal confrontation with other patrons. As officers contacted the suspect, they noted the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and refused to continue taking tests. A blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
