Aggravated battery and Leaving the scene felony arrests; Weekend incident report

   Arrested: Elizabeth D. McClerkin, 27, Boise (Booking photo on Ada Web is correct)

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight with a knife at a residence on the 11000 block of West Ustick Road, Saturday, July 21st, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Witnesses tell police the victim became involved in an argument with the suspect. During the confrontation, the victim tells police the suspect stabbed him more than once with a knife. The suspect then fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries at the time. The suspect and the victim are known to each other and the exact cause of the altercation is under investigation. Officers located the suspect a short time later at a residence on the 3300 block of Buckboard Street. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9  ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-907. Aggravated battery defined. (1) A person commits aggravated battery who, in committing battery: (a) Causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement; or (b) Uses a deadly weapon or instrument;

    Arrested: Andrew P. Captcha, 33, Boise

    Charges: Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), No proof of insurance (m)

   Multiple witnesses, including a Boise Police Detective, witnessed the suspect strike a pedestrian with his car in a crosswalk early Sunday morning, July 22nd, at approximately 4:00 a.m. The victim received what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries at the time. The suspect, who did not stop after striking the pedestrian, was stopped by police at Front and 10th Street. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. The suspect was unable to provide proof of liability insurance at the time of the stop. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Duncan D. Acosta, 32, No Known Residence

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to Deliver (Meth)(F)

   Boise Police on patrol late Friday night observed a vehicle run a red light at Cole and Emerald Streets at approximately 11:30 p.m. Officers stopped the vehicle for the violation. As officers contacted the driver, they determined he was on parole. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 8 grams total package weight of Meth, packaging materials and other evidence indicating the suspect had been involved in the sale of the controlled substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Scot L. Phipps, 34, Boise

   Charges: Eluding or Fleeing Police (F), Reckless Driving (m)

    Boise Police on patrol near 11th Street and Main Street observed a vehicle dragging the back end on the pavement, causing sparks and noise late Friday night, July 20th, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Officers on bike patrol rode up on the vehicle, announced themselves, and ordered the suspect to stop and pull over. The driver of the vehicle instead used a mechanical device to raise the rear end, and sped away in an attempt to lose the officer. The suspect continued to drive recklessly, running a red light at 12th and Idaho Street. Responding officers located and stopped the driver at 13th and Idaho Street. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Nicole Welch, 33, Garden City

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Arrested: Lester A. Watson, 40, Meridian

   Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Probation violation charges

   Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn as it entered a parking lot at West Fairview and North Liberty Street early Sunday, July 22nd, just after midnight. As officers approached the vehicle they observed a hypodermic needle in plain sight. Officers determined the needle used for drug use belonged to the driver, Lester Watson. Officers determined that approximately $100.00 worth of groceries had been stolen from a nearby retail store by Nicole Welch, resulting in the Burglary charge. After a detailed investigation, the suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Reed W. Alba, 18, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 400 block of North Milwaukee Street Saturday, July 21st, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items of clothing in a purse, then leave the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect a short time later and recovered the items. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
