Retail Theft Ring out of Oregon Busted in Boise

Boise, June 12, 2012 - Boise Police arrested five people last week believed to be part of an organized retail theft ring involved in stealing, shipping and selling stolen merchandise for profit.  Boise officers found evidence the suspects had stolen items in several cities in Oregon and Southern Idaho before being arrested in Boise. Boise officers found all five suspects are documented gang members or gang associates out of the Portland area.

What Happened: Thursday afternoon, June 7th, Boise Police received a call from an employee reporting a theft in progress at a retail store in the area of E. Gowen and S. Eisenman Roads. Officers recognized the description of the suspects, three black females, and the suspect vehicle as matching a similar shoplifting call the previous day from an electronics store in the area of W. Franklin Rd. and N. Milwaukee St.

Prior to officers arrival on S. Eisenman, the suspects abandoned their vehicle, a rental car with Oregon plates, and fled the area on foot.  Officers searched the vehicle and found approximately $2,400 worth of merchandise recently stolen from the nearby stores. Officers also found evidence of items being shipped from Idaho to an address in the Portland area, as well as evidence the suspects are connected to shoplifting crimes in other cities in Oregon and Southern Idaho.

Officers gathered evidence and soon located the three female suspects at a hotel near the Boise Airport. Officers found the females with two males believed to be accomplices in transporting the females and transporting and concealing stolen merchandise.

Boise Police Gang detectives found all five suspects are documented members of close associates of the Rollin' 60's Crips gamg out of the Portland area.

All five suspects were booked and remain into the Ada County Jail on the following charges. The investigation into their connection to other crimes is continuing. Currently two of the suspects, Talley and Wallace also face extradition back to Oregon for related crimes. Boise Police detectives have also been told one of the male suspects will soon face extradition back to Multnomah County, Oregon as a felony parole absconder accused of removing his ankle braclet to travel and commit crimes in Idaho.
