DUI driver arrested on Injury to a Child charges; Daily incident report

    Arrested: Vanessa R. Dudy, 28, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Injury to a Child (m), Eluding or Evading police (m)

   Boise Police received a citizen report of a drunk driver who had nearly rear ended another vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic and almost hit the curb Northbound on Overland Road near Five Mile Road last night, June 21st, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect refused to yield to emergency lights and siren. The vehicle continued as it nearly struck a vehicle in front of it, refusing to stop for police. The suspect almost struck a vehicle and was speeding, doing approximately 42 miles per hour as it crossed multiple lanes of traffic. Officers eventually used the P.I.T. Maneuver to stop the suspect vehicle on the 5600 block of West Overland Road. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her person, glassy bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The suspect refused to perform field sobriety tests. A blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. Officers determined the suspect had a child, under the age of 5 years old in the car during the incident resulting in the Injury to a Child charge. The child was turned over to the custody of a family member. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Trevor Y. Valladolid, 26, Pocatello

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Driving Without Privileges (DWP)(m)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle driving Northbound in the Southbound lane of Capitol Blvd. early this morning, June 22nd, just after midnight. Officers stopped the driver at South Capitol and Eastover Terrace. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and refused to conduct a breath test. A blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. Records indicated the suspect was currently suspended from driving. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
