Jewelry Theft results in Arrest; BPD Daily Incident Report

Arrested: Halil Miljkovic, 18, Boise

Charged: Grand Theft by Possession (F) (Warrant Arrest)

Boise Police have been investigating reports of jewelry theft from a home in the neighborhood of Vista Ave and W. Overland Road. According to the victims, numerous jewelry items had been stolen from the home sometime in late November, 2011. The crime was reported to police in early January, 2012. The value of the jewelry taken was in excess of $2,600.  The suspect is known to the victims. Investigating officers found evidence of the suspect's involvement in the theft and subsequent sale of the jewelry. The officer's report was forwarded to Ada County Prosecuotrs who issued a warrant for the suspect's arrest. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County jail on the above charge Tuesday afternoon.

Arrested: Arthur Depfer, 61, Boise

Charged: Burglary (F) 

Boise Police were called by employees of a retail store on the 8100 block of W. Fairview Ave. Tuesday, April 10th about 2:00 p.m. Investigating officers found evidence the suspect entered the store, removed an article of men's clothing from the hanger, removed the tags, then attempted to return the item for a cash refund. Officers believe the evidence shows the suspect entered the store with the intention of committing the theft, thus the felony charge. The suspect was booked into the Ada County jail.
