Two unrelated Felony DUI arrests; Daily incident report

    Arrested: James K. Mundlin, 38, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and crossing a double yellow line near Overland and Latah Street late last night, March 28th, at approximately 10:30 p.m. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .21/.22 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Daniel C. Mogford, 33, Boise

    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

   Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn as it entered the roadway on Main near North 3rd Street early this morning, March 29th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and refused to perform a breath test. A blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Transferred: Lamont L. Beck, 50, Boise

   Warrant Charges:   Grand Theft (F)

     The suspect was transferred from Oregon to face charges in Idaho that include a Boise City charge of Grand Theft yesterday. 

The warrant stems from an investigation into the theft of several heavy duty industrial valves taken from a business on the 6400 block of West Gowen Road in July of 2010. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft and resale of the equipment to obtain cash. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

   Warrant Transferred: Michael L. Layne, 30, Mountain Home

   Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

     The suspect was transferred from Elmore County to face a Burglary charge in Boise yesterday.

    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of items from a retail store on December 4th of last year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in stealing goods from a store on the 8200 block of West Overland Road. The suspect did not attempt to pay for the merchandise before leaving the store. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

  Arrested: Kevin T. Baron, 29, Transient

   Charges: Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 1600 block of West State Street yesterday, March 28th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal batteries and 2 beers and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect a short time later and recovered the items. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
