Arrested: Marc S. Goodwin, 30, Boise

Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident (m)

Boise Police responded to a report of an injury crash at Boise and Apple yesterday afternoon, March 22nd, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect, later identified as Marc Goodwin, was driving a pickup headed East on Boise Ave struck a car that was waiting to turn north on Apple from Eastbound Boise. Witnesses say the suspect stopped and began to exchange information when, according to witnesses, he suddenly jumps back in his truck and accelerates very quickly. The suspect vehicle then immediately rear-ends a mini-van with 2 occupants (adult male & female) headed east on Boise Ave. Witnesses say the pickup then enters the intersection against the red light and strikes a car headed south on Apple street.  Witnesses tell police the suspect driver continues Eastbound on Boise Ave, swerves onto the far side across oncoming traffic and hits a mailbox and trash can before turning right onto Law and hits the power pole at Law & Wright next to Lowder Park. None of the persons involved in any of the collisions appeared to have received life threatening injuries at the time. The incident closed roads and disrupted traffic in the area for hours. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what appeared at the time to be minor injuries. A blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. The suspect was medically cleared from the hospital a short time later and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
