p.m. - Boise Police are investigating a 2-car crash that was
reported at 12:24 p.m. at S. Federal Way & W. Targee
Street. An elderly man in his late 80's, the driver of a 4-door
Honda Accord has been transported to the hospital with what appear
to be life-threatening injuries.
What Happened: Boise Police
and Firefighters were called to the intersection of W. Targee
and S. Federal Way at 12:24 p.m. Officers and firefighters arrived
to find the driver of a 4-door Honda Accord seriously injured and
trapped in his vehicle. Firefighters were able to extricate the
man. He was taken to the hospital with what appear to be
life-threatening injuries.
Officers are still investigating what happened.
Witnesses tell officers the elderly Honda driver was stopped at the
stop sign on Targee then proceeded into traffic on S. Federal Way.
He was hit by a Jeep SUV traveling eastbound with two woman inside.
Both women were wearing seat belts. Neither were injured
but were checked by firefighters and paramedics on
scene.
At this time, both center lanes of Federal
Way remain restricted. In addition to patrol officers, detectives
and BPD crash reconstruction experts continue to investigate.
