Boise, March 17, 2012-Boise Police arrested a
woman last night after she reportedly walked into a retail store at
Eagle Rd. and Chinden Blvd. and threatened employees with a
gun.
Arrested: Cynthia Clinkingbeard, 58,
Boise
Charged: Aggravated
Assault (F)
What Happened: Boise Police were called at 9:16 pm
Friday, March 16, by employees of the store who told police
dispatchers a woman had walked into the store, made strange,
threatening remarks to 3 employees then pulled out a handgun and,
according to the witnesses, made threatening statements toward
them.
Witnesses were able to provide dispatchers with a
description of the vehicle the suspect drove off in. That vehicle
was quickly spotted by an Ada County Sheriffs Deputy traveling
south on Eagle Rd. Officers with ACSO, Boise and Meridian Police
made a felony traffic stop and, because the suspect was reported to
be armed, briefly closed traffic in both directions on Eagle Rd.
until they could be sure passing motorists would not be in danger.
Officers found the suspect was in the vehicle with two other
adults. After investigating, officers found the other two people in
the vehicle had not been involved in any crime and were apparently
unaware of what had happened in the store.
Officers questioned, then arrested the suspect and
booked her into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.
fyi- the original call officers responded to was armed
robbery, however after questioning witnesses further it was
determined no robbery had occurred.
