Boise Police retail crimes investigators arrested the two suspects yesterday, February 7th, after receiving a report of a theft at a local merchant as part of an ongoing investigation. Yesterday investigators received a report of a theft at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspects conceal several items of merchandise, including high end sunglasses and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers confronted the suspects in the parking lot and recovered more than $1700.00 in stolen merchandise including sheets and high end perfumes taken from three local retail stores. Officers believe the suspects entered the stores with the intent to commit the thefts, resulting in the burglary charges. Officers had already been investigating the suspects in connection with several other retail thefts beginning in December of last year. Additional charges may be pending. After a detailed investigation, the suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.
