Weekend incident report
Boise Police arrested two juvenile teenage males
this morning after a car theft ends in a vehicle crashed into a
residence.
Boise Police responded to a report of a stolen
passenger car on the 900 block of North Maple Grove this morning,
February 27th at approximately 6:00 a.m. The victim tells police
she had started her car and left it running to warm up, when she
returned, the car was gone.
A short time later, at approximately 6:45 a.m.
officers spotted the vehicle on the road near Maple Grove and Susan
Streets. Using emergency lights and siren officers attempted to
conduct a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle and its two juvenile
male occupants refused to yield to the officers. Instead of
stopping, the vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed. Officers
did not actively chase the vehicle for public safety reasons.
Moments later officers witnessed the vehicle lose control as it
crashed into a residence near Hampton and Irvine streets. The two
juvenile suspects immediately exited the vehicle and attempted to
run from the scene of the crash. Officers briefly chased the
suspects on foot and they were taken into custody.
Both juvenile male suspects will face Grand Theft
charges and minor consumption of alcohol in juvenile court. The
driver will face charges for driving without a license.

Boise Police responded to a
citizen report of a disturbance at a residence on the 2800 block of
South Robert Lane Saturday morning, February 25th, at approximately
10:00 a.m. As officers contacted the residents, they observed an
active marijuana grow inside the home. Officers recovered grow
lights, fans, heaters and four marijuana plants. After a detailed
investigation the suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on
the above listed charges.

Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance
(Prescription Medications)(F), Petit Theft (m)
Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a
retail store on the 8200 block of West Fairview Friday, February
24th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that
they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store
without paying for them. Employees detained the suspect until
officers arrived. When the suspect was searched for the stolen
items they discovered prescription pain medications that the
suspect did not have documentation for, resulting in the Controlled
Substance charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County
Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)
Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a
retail store on the 10000 block of West Overland Sunday, February
26th, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Store employees tell police
that they witnessed the suspect conceal several items in a plastic
container and attempted to leave the store without paying for them.
When officers questioned the suspect he provided false identifying
information. A search of the suspect's person revealed a syringe
used for injecting a controlled substance. Officers believe the
suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft
resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to
the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
The Boise Police Department has developed a
positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention
agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and
national chains. The goal is to work with retailers to reduce theft
and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a
retail store on the 400 block of North Milwaukee Street Saturday,
February 25th, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Store employees tell
police that they witnessed two suspects conceal several items of
clothing and then leave the store without paying for them. The two
suspects, one adult and one juvenile were detained outside the
store, and the items recovered. Officers believe the suspects
entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in
the burglary charges. Kevin Pio-Martinez was transported to the Ada
County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. The juvenile
suspect was cited and released.
