Tires slashed and other crimes; Weekend incident report

12-05-11 Tires slashed and other crimes; Weekend incident report

    Boise, December 5th 2011- Officers are asking for the public's help in identifying anyone who may have been involved in a tire slashing that took place early Saturday morning. 

   What Happened: Officers say the vandalism most likely occurred early Saturday morning between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Damage to the tires appears to be from a sharp object. Officers have found approximately 25 cars damaged in the area of W. Hays and 5th Street. 

    Crime Stoppers: At this time, investigating officers have no suspect information. Detectives are working on leads obtained from neighbors. Anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, or log onto www.343cops.com, or text CRIMES or 274637, subject: Tip236. A citizen can remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of criminal suspects.

   Arrested: Matthew L. Alexander, 18, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight at a residence near 27th Street and Main Street Sunday afternoon, December 4th, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect, who is known to the residents, has been involved in an ongoing dispute. According to the victims the suspect showed up at the home and became involved in an argument. At one point, the suspect threw a full paint can in an attempt to hit the victim, a juvenile female, in the head. The paint can struck the victim in the elbow. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY18-907. Aggravated battery defined.(1) A person commits aggravated battery who, in committing battery: (a)  Causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement; or (b)  Uses a deadly weapon or instrument

  Warrant Arrested: Sarah M. Parks, 33, Boise

  Warrant Charges:Injury to a Child (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Injury to a Child Saturday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into marks left on a child in September of this year. Boise Police detectives received a referral from agents with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. After a detailed investigation, detectives concluded the suspect had been involved in causing the injuries to the child. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

    Arrested: Larry Gonzalez, 42, Meridian

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police received multiple witness calls of a possible drunk driver early Saturday morning, December 3rd, at approximately 2:00 a.m. Officers located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot on the 600 block of Americana Bld. Witnesses tell police the suspect vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic, nearly colliding with cars at a high rate of speed. At one point, witnesses say the suspect struck the curb at the entrance to the connector Eastbound, flattening both front tires before almost striking the jersey barrier. Witnesses say the vehicle then exited the connector at River Street and stopped in the parking lot. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had 2 prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Robert J. Traver Jr. 24, Moscow

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Possession of Marijuana (m)

    Boise Police responded to a theft at a bar on the 1400 block of North Curtis Sunday morning, December 3rd, at approximately 2:00 a.m. The victim tells police his wallet had been stolen by the suspect. The victim says he confronted the suspect and other patrons of the bar detained him until officers arrived. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, was in possession of a plastic baggie containing a small amount of marijuana. The stolen items were recovered. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Justin W. McNicholl, 26, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a vehicle burglary in progress on the 3100 block of Maple Grove Road late Saturday night, December 3rd, just before midnight. The victim tells police she was woken up and saw the suspect going through the interior of her vehicle. The victim provided a description of the suspect. A short time later, officers located the suspect walking West on Ustick near Five Mile. After being positively identified, the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Corenea A. Craigen, 48, Nampa

   Charges:Obtaining a Controlled Substance by Fraud (Norco)(F), Providing False Information (m)

  Boise Police responded to a request for assistance at a local medical facility Sunday evening, December 4th, at approximately 6:00 p.m. Medical staff indicated to officers that the suspect had come to the facility in an attempt to obtain a prescription for pain killers. During the course of the investigation officers determined the suspect had provided false identifying information. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
