DUI and Drug charges; Weekend Incident report

12-19-11 DUI and Drug charges; Weekend Incident report
    Arrested: Arland D.Taylor, 58, Boise
 
    Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Driving Without Priviledges (DWP)(m)
 
   Boise Police received a citizen report of a possible drunk driver at a convenience store on the 3200 block of North Cole Road Friday afternoon, December 16th, at approximately 4:00 p.m. The calling party tells police she witnessed the suspect stumble out of a liquor store and then drive over a curb to get to the conveniece store. Officers located the suspect at the convenience store purchasing beer. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. A check through Ada County Records indicates the suspect was currently suspended from driving. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Boise Police responded to a report of a stolen car early Saturday morning, December 17th, at approximately 2:35 a.m. The victim, who knows the suspect, tells police he had been at the victims residence earlier that evening consuming alcohol. At one point, the victim tells police the suspect was told to leave the residence on the 5200 block of West Morris Hill. Evidence indicates the suspect took the victim's vehicle without permission when he he left. Officers located the suspect the next day. The vehicle was recovered from a nearby parking lot the following day. After a detailed investigation, the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Shawn M. Garrett, 40, San Antoinio TX.
 
    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Resisting and Obstructing (m)
 
    Boise Police responded to a problem subject call at a hotel on the 200 block of South Capitol Blvd. early Monday morning, December 19th, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Officers made contact with the suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance outside of his room wearing only his underwear. The suspect was informed he had to leave the hotel and gave officers permission to enter the room while he gathered his things. While inside the hotel room, the suspect told officers there was a person in the bathroom with bullets and a machine gun. The suspect began to struggle with officers and he was taken into custody. Officers determined the person in the bathroom did not have a weapon. Officers retrieved the suspects pants for him and located a baggie containing a small amount of meth in the pocket. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Gregory L. Anders, 49, Boise
 
    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Driving Without Privileges (DWP)(m), Failure to Appear warrant charges
 
    Boise Police on patrol early Sunday morning, December 18th, at approximately 1:31 a.m. observed a vehicle perform an illegal lane change and conducted a traffic stop near Roosevelt and Nez Perce Streets. A check through Ada County Dispatch indicated the suspect was currently suspended from driving and had two warrants for his arrest on failure to appear charges. A Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed two baggies of meth weighing approximately .8 and .5 grams. a glass pipe with Meth residue, two hydrocodone pills and 13 grams of marijuana. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Janet L. Wallace, 40, Meridian
 
   Warrant Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)
 
     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance Friday.
 
    The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the possession of a small amount of meth during a traffic stop on August 24th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was in possession of the controlled substance on that date. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

   Charges: Burglary (F)
 
  Arrested: Elish T. King Jr, 18, Richmond CA.
 
   Charges: Burglary (F)
 
   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8300 block of West Overland Sunday, December 18th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspects select items and place them in bags the suspects had brought with them into the store. The suspects then left the store without paying for the items. Officers located the suspects and recovered the items. Officers believe the suspects entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charges. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
 
   The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

   Charges: Burglary (F)
 
   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a business on the 7700 block of West Fairview Friday, December 16th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect enter the bathroom and take soap and toilet paper. The suspect attempted to conceal the items before attempting to leave the business. When employees confronted the suspect he ran. Officers located the suspect a short time later and recovered the items. Store employees have evidence that the suspect has done this on at least one prior occasion. Officers believe the suspect entered the business with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 400 block of North Milwaukee Saturday, December 17th, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect select items, then place them in a bag she had brought with her and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect a short time later and recovered the items. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
