11-16-11 Officers find marijuana plants; Woman who interferes with officers arrested for R & O and Meth; BPD Daily Incident Report

Arrested: Joseph M. Apodaca, 63, Boise
Charged: Manufacturing of Marijuana (F)

Boise Police were called to a home near S. Columbus and Nez Perce Streets shortly after 10:00 last night for a welfare check. While officers were investigating a possible fight at the home, they discovered several green leafy plants located in a bedroom in plain view. They turned out to be eight marijuana plants growing under a lamp. Growing marijuana falls under Idaho Code 37-2732(a)1(b) as a controlled substance illegal to manufacture. Officers found evidence the plants belonged to the resident of the home, the suspect, Joseph Apodaca. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.

Arrested: Breeana N. Baledge, 18, Boise
Charged: Grand Theft (F)

Boise Police were called to a retail store near W. Fairview Ave and N. Five Mile Rd. yesterday afternoon, Nov. 15th, at about 4:30. When officers arrived they talked with store managers who presented evidence they wanted the officers to investigate regarding a store employee stealing from cash registers. After following up, officers did indeed find evidence that the suspect, Baledge had taken money on at least three occasions over the past month while working at the store. Although the total amount taken appeared to be less than $100, under Idaho Code 18-2407(b)9 theft of property valued over $50 on three or more incidents creates a "criminal episode", and is defined as felony grand theft. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charge. Evidence of additional cases of theft from the store is being routed by officers to prosecutors for review.

Arrested: Kathy Tarsha, 57, Boise
Charged: Possession of methamphetamine (F), Possession of drug paraphernalia (m), Resisting and Obstructing officers (m)

Boise Police were dispatched Code 3, meaning emergency lights and sirens, to assist Probation and Parole officers at a home in the area of N. 20th and Dora Streets shortly after 10:00 last night. Officers arrived moments later and found a Parole Officer in a physical struggle with a man outside a home on the 2000 block of N.19th Street. Probation officers also immediately requested the Boise officers assist them in looking for another man who had just run off. While officers were searching for the man, later found to be the suspect's son, Eddie Tarsha, the suspect pushed one officer. She also continued to follow them around yelling obscenities, taking time and attention away from the officers search for the wanted man. After repeatedly refusing officers order to go back inside her home, officers arrested her for Resisting and Obstructing. In a search following her arrest, officers found her in possession of a pipe with white residue which tested presumptive positive as methamphetamine. Boise Police and Probation officers soon found the wanted man, Eddie Tarsha at a nearby home. He was arrested on a felony probation violation.
