Naked man arrested for Battery on an Officer; Weekend incident report

11-14-11 Naked man arrested for Battery on an Officer; Weekend incident report

   Arrested: Grant R. Gardner, 23, Boise

   Charges: Battery on an Officer (F), Public Nudity (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Public Intoxication (m)

    Boise Police on patrol witnessed the suspect go running past their marked patrol car completely naked in a parking lot at Military Reserve Park early Saturday morning, November 12th, at approximately 5:00 a.m. It was very cold and had just began to snow. Officers instructed the suspect to stop and sit down. The suspect began to comply, then took off running again into the dog park. The suspect continued to flee as he ran behind several buildings on the 200 block of Collins Road. Officers caught up to the suspect as he attempted to scale a fence with barbed wire on top. Officers instructed the suspect to stay still as they requested additional assistance to safely remove the suspect, who had become entangled in the barged wire. The suspect refused to stay still and officers assisted him as he came down off the fence. The suspect then punched one officer in the face. After a brief struggle the suspect was taken into custody. Officers noted the distinct odor of alcohol on the suspects person and due to the nature of the suspect's unusual behavior, officers believe he was under the influence of intoxicating substances. Due to the suspects unusual behavior and minor injuries received in the barbed wire paramedics responded to the scene to treat him. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Fidel Mariscal Jr, 21, Boise

   Charges: Battery on an Officer (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Probation Violation Charges (m), Failure to Appear Warrant (m)

    Boise Police on patrol in the area of Curtis and Franklin Roads were flagged down by a citizen early Saturday morning, November 12th, at approximately 1:30 a.m. The citizen told officers the suspect had just kicked her vehicle. The witness was able to point out the suspect who was running away on foot. Officers pursued the suspect, who refused to stop. Officers had to physically take the suspect into custody. As officers handcuffed the suspect he continued to struggle and at one point kicked officers. Officers noted the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage on the suspects person. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Colbie J. Keslar, 18, Nampa

   Charges: Battery on an Officer (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight in progress in a parking lot on the 3100 block of Esquire Drive Sunday morning, November 13th, at approximately 8:00 a.m. Responding officers made contact with the suspect in the parking lot and identified themselves as Boise Police. The suspect, who was holding a large metal flashlight at the time, was told to put down the light and a phone he was holding. Eventually, the suspect dropped the light. As officers moved in to detain the suspect, a struggle took place. At one point, the suspect bit one of the officers in the hand causing him to bleed. The suspect continued to actively resist until officers physically took him into custody. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Daniel W. Leary, 21, Boise

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

  Citation Issued:Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle fail to legally yield to a traffic signal at Roosevelt and Rose Hill Streets Saturday evening, November 11:00 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near South Manville Street and West Franklin Road. As officers contacted the driver they observed a glass pipe in plain sight. A search of the suspects person revealed a baggie containing a small amount of meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Richard D. Page, 49, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Parole Violation Charges (F)

  Boise Police received a citizens report of a drunk driver Friday evening, November 11th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officers located the vehicle and observed the driver failing to maintain his lane on Overland Road. Officers stopped the driver at Overland Road and Atlantic. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .18/.18 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Matthew J. Judd, 32, Meridian

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police responded to a single vehicle collision with a fence at Maple Grove and Ustick Road Saturday evening, November 12th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. The suspect did not appear to be seriously injured at the scene of the collision and refused treatment by paramedics. The man, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Steven C. Paszkowski, 50, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police observed a vehicle following too close to the vehicle in front of it Sunday evening, November 13th, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Officers stopped the driver at Latah and Pershing Street. The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and then refused to continue. The suspect refused to provide a breath sample and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Lois D. Scruggs, 33, Boise

   Charges:Failure to Register as a Sex Offender (F)

           Boise Police arrived at a home in the area of Vista Ave and Nez Perce Street on Thursday, November 10th at approximately 7:15. Officers were following up on a previous call for assistance. While at the home, they found the suspect, Scruggs, had been living there for approximately two weeks. Scruggs is a sex offender out of Ada County and currently registered as homeless. Per Idaho Code 18-8309(2), if an offender changes their address, the offender has five (5) working days to register with the Sheriff's Office. Officers arrested Scruggs and booked him into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.
