Possession of a firearm by a known felon leads to arrest; Daily incident report

10-13-11 Possession of a firearm by a known felon leads to arrest; Daily incident report

   Arrested: Tommy E. Tiedemann, 29, Boise

   Charges:Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Carrying a Concealed Weapon (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle crossing the center line and perform an illegal turn  while travelling south on Cloverdale Road early this morning, October 13th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. As officers stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Cloverdale and Ustick the suspect immediately exited his vehicle and began walking toward a nearby convenience store. As officers made contact with the driver he indicated he was carrying a knife in his pocket. A Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a 2 baggies containing a combined total package weight of 8 grams of marijuana, 4 knives and a loaded handgun. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect has prior felony convictions making his possession of the handgun a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Katie A. Smith, 26, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police responded to a citizen report of a vehicle striking a tree in a business parking lot on the 500 block of N. Milwaukee street yesterday, October 12th, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Witnesses tell police they saw the female driver move to the passenger side of the vehicle after the collision. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had 3 prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Cynthia A. Hunnicutt, 43, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police observed a vehicle travelling at 50 mph in a 35 mile per hour zone on Fairview early this morning, October 13th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers stopped the driver at Fairview and Orchard Streets. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .15/.16 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had 2 prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Timothy M. Dacey, 40, Meridian

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

   Boise Police, as part of an ongoing unrelated investigation, contacted the suspect during a traffic stop at Parkcenter Blvd. and Mallard Street yesterday, October 12th, at approximately 1:30 p.m. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a approximately 1 gram total package weight of meth. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Warrant Transferred: Jeffrey L. Mallory, 32, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    The suspect was transferred from Washington yesterday to face charges on an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated battery.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into an incident that took place in a Boise home on September 13th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in a personal dispute with the victim, who is known to him. At one point, witnesses tell police the suspect held a knife and made verbal threats to the victim, causing him to fear for his life. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

  Warrant Transferred: Dennis R. Lee,  50, Adrian OR.

  Warrant Charges: Burglary (F)

    The suspect was transferred from Oregon yesterday to face charges on an outstanding felony warrant for burglary.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the use of financial transaction cards to deprive a local business of merchandise that took place on March 18th of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the theft from a retail store on the 3500 block of S. Federal Way. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
