Boise, October 12th, 2011- Once again a Boise Police Officer and other local emergency responders will be camped on top of the Krispy Kreme Donut Shop  at 1525 North Eagle Road to raise awareness and money for the athletes of the Idaho Special Olympics.

The participants will spend three days camping out on the donut shop while other events on the ground support their efforts!

This year's events last from Thursday at 6:00 AM to Saturday evening.All officers are volunteering their time for Special Olympics!

This year's events will include:

  • Thursday and Saturday -Buy donuts at the Meridian Krispy Kreme between Thursday, October 13th and Saturday, October 15th.
  • Thursday -Starting at 6:00 p.m. , purchase a ticket to enjoy a rooftop dinner and concert. Seating is limited. Concert artist, ticket price and availability to be announced.
  •  Friday and Saturday -Make lunch or dinner plans at the Meridian Red Robin on Friday, October 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 15th, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. come down to eat and Tip a Cop!
  • Friday -Participate in Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 14h, starting at 6:30 p.m. and trick or treat out of cop cars. Live music by Reckless Abandon.
  • Saturday -Participate in the Fire Truck Pull on Saturday, October 15th starting at 10:00 a.m.

In the past this event has raised approximately $15,000 for Special Olympics Idaho on behalf of Law Enforcement. Funding for Special Olympics comes from the generous donations of individuals, businesses and corporations, as well as from private grants and foundations.
