    Update: 

    Arrested: Carl V. Streeter, 54, Boise

    Charged: Aggravated Battery, with use of a deadly weapon (F)

   UPDATE: 12:35 p.m. - Boise Police took the stabbing suspect into custody about 15 minutes ago, approx 12:20 p.m. He was located in an alley between 18th & 19th, Bannock and Idaho Streets. Officers took the suspect into custody peacefully. He is currently being questioned by detectives.

    Citizen Tip: Boise Police have been searching for the suspect, Carl V. Streeter since the stabbing occurred about midnight (see releases below). Boise bike officers recognized the photo of Streeter as a man who commonly rides his bike through the downtown area. Officers spent much of the morning showing Streeter's photo to citizens throughout downtown, nearby parks and the greenbelt. The suspect photo was also broadcast on throughout local media channels and the Internet via Twitter and Facebook.

    At 12:20 p.m., a citizen who had just seen the photo shown to them by an officer spotted the suspect in the alley. Officers were on scene within moments and took the suspect into custody without incident.

    UPDATE: Attached is a photo of the suspect in the brutal stabbing that occurred overnight.

    Suspect is Carl V. Streeter, 54 of Boise. Streeter lives near where the attack occurred.

    Streeter was last seen around midnight near W.  Idaho St and N. 19th St leaving the area riding a bike wearing a green and purple jacket and white T shirt. 

    At this time, Boise Police are trying to get a warrant for Streeter's arrest. Typically suspect names are not released prior to arrest warrants, but because Streeter is considered armed and very dangerous, locating Streeter is urgent and officers believe critical to public safety.

    Anyone who see's or knows of Streeters whereabouts is urged NOT to confront him but to call police at 911 immediately.

Stabbing/ Attempted Homicide:

  Boise, Sept. 17, 2011, 5:45 am-  Boise Police are searching for a man who stabbed a woman in an apartment overnight. The woman is hospitalized with serious but apparently non-life threatening injuries. Officers say with the information they have now, when they find the man, he will face charges of attempted murder.

  What Happened: Shortly before midnight Friday, Sept. 16, officers were called to an apartment near W.  Idaho St and N. 19th St.  They arrived  to find that the victim, an adult female, had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body. The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim. Officers were told he left the scene on a bike.

  Suspect Description: the suspect, was   

  Boise Police Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation. Officers in the field are continuing to search for the suspect.

 Officers ask anyone who may have seen a man on a bike wearing clothing described above to call 911 immediately.  As of now the suspect has yet to be located and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
