Boise, August 9, 2011 - Officers are searching for four men who kicked the door in to a downtown Boise apartment and stole money and property from those inside.

Officers believe the suspects targeted the apartment, that the crime was not random.

"We believe the suspects in this case actually knew where they were going," said Lt. Alan Cavener with the Boise Police Patrol Division. "They came with the intent to steal both money and property."

Witnesses say the suspects were wearing masks and entered the apartment armed with guns. One shot was fired during the robbery. No one was hurt, the shot entered a television set. At least two people were in the apartment at the time of the incident.

The robbery was reported at 2:25 this morning at the apartment on the 400 blk of Main Street.

"This is a violent crime," said Lt. Cavener. "It's fairly rare in Boise to have this kind of violent crime occur, so we really want to catch the suspects in this case."
