09-30-11 Observant witness helps catch vehicle burglar; Daily
Arrested: Joseph D. Maestas, 41, Caldwell
Charges: Burglary (F), Grand Theft
Boise Police responded to a report of a
vehicle burglary that had just taken place on the 700 block of
South Vista Avenue yesterday, September 29th, at approximately 5:00
p.m. A witness tells police he heard a window shatter and saw a man
reach inside the victims vehicle to retrieve an item before fleeing
in a vehicle. The witness was able to provide detailed information
that helped officers identify the suspect vehicle moments later and
conduct a traffic stop near Hervey and Targee Streets. Officers
recovered the victims stolen purse that contained credit cards, a
handgun and other personal items. After a detailed investigation
the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on
the above listed charges.
Warrant Arrested: Beatriz E. Castro, 29, Boise
Warrant Charges: Injury to a Child (F)
The suspect was taken into custody on an
outstanding felony warrant for Injury to a Child yesterday.
The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing
investigation into an incident that took place on September 21st of
this year. On that date officers responded to a welfare check of
the suspects residence and found the suspect incapacitated due to
the abuse of prescription drugs. Two small children were turned
over to the custody of State Health and Welfare. That investigative
information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's
Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
