Former Employee faces Theft by Embezzlement Charges; BPD daily incident report

09-30-11 Former Employee faces Theft by Embezzlement Charges; BPD daily incident report

Arrested: Gregory L. Macho, 29, Boise

Charged: Grand Theft (F)

The suspect, Macho, was arrested at his Boise home Monday morning by Boise Police patrol officers and financial crimes detectives. The officers had been searching for Macho after a warrant on Grand Theft was issued for him by Ada County Prosecutors last week.

What Happened: Boise Police financial crimes detectives were contacted by senior management of a multi-state corporation with outlets in Boise. At the time, Macho had been an employee with the company for several years and was currently in a supervisory position in Boise. Working with the company, detectives were able to uncover evidence of ongoing embezzlement at one of the company's Boise outlets resulting in a loss of approx $20,000 over a four-month period of time earlier this year. The detectives investigation was turned over the Ada County prosecutors who issued the warrant resulting in Macho's arrest. Boise Police booked Macho into the Ada County Jail on the above charge.
