Aggravated Assault and a vehicle Burglar caught in the act; Weekend incident report

09-12-11 Aggravated Assault and a vehicle Burglar caught in the act; Weekend incident report

   Arrested: Travis E. Washburn, 23, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F), 2 counts of Battery (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fight at a residence in West Boise Friday afternoon, September 9th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Victims tell police a verbal argument over an ongoing dispute had taken place in front of the residence. Multiple witnesses tell officers the suspect shoved two adult victims to the ground during the argument. At one point, witnesses say the suspect retrieved a crowbar from his vehicle and approached the victims in an aggressive manner resulting in the Aggravated Assault charge. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers located the suspect a short time later in a nearby parking lot and he was taken into custody. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905.Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

   Arrested: Allen L. Berry, 46, No Known Address

   Charges: 3 counts of Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F), Felon in Possession of a Firearm (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a burglary that had just taken place early Saturday morning, September 10th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Dispatch advised officers the suspect was being detained by one of the victims. The victim tells police he noticed the dome light was on in his vehicle and the suspect was rummaging through the truck. When the victim approached the suspect he saw the man was holding two firearms that he had just taken from the vehicle. The suspect dropped the weapons and attempted to flee on foot. The victim caught the suspect and held him until police arrived. Officers determined the suspect had broken into other vehicles in the parking lot and stolen items were recovered from his person. The suspect has a previous felony conviction making the possession of a firearm illegal.  The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Crystal A. May, 31, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Driving Without Privileges (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Probation Violation charges

   Boise Police observed the suspect operating a vehicle at 11th and Ressiguie early this morning, September 12th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. The officer confirmed the suspect was currently suspended from driving. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, parked her vehicle and officers made contact. The suspect refused to complete field sobriety tests and repeatedly attempted to walk away from officers. At one point, officers had to physically restrain the suspect as she yelled and struggled. At the Ada County jail the suspect blew a .18/.19. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Dana R. Reeves, 29, Boise

   Charges: Battery on an Officer (F), Disorderly Conduct (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

    Boise Police responded to a citizen request for a welfare check on the 2200 block of South Shoshone Sunday, September 11th, at approximately 4:00 a.m. Officers located a vehicle that had been involved in a collision and the calling party pointed out the suspect, who was sitting on the porch of a nearby residence. As officers talked to the calling party, the suspect attempted to hide behind a residence.  Officers contacted the suspect and attempted to determine what had taken place. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, refused to cooperate with officers and repeatedly attempted to leave. At one point, the suspect fought to get away from officers, swinging and kicking. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Kelli A. Gilbert, 53, Boise

  Charges:Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Friday, September 9th, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

  Warrant Arrested: Siva Q. Sanchez, 41, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Issuing Checks Without Funds (Closed Account)(F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Issuing Checks Without Funds Sunday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into checks written to local merchants starting in August of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect was aware the funds did not exist to cover the checks for more than $1,000.00. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
