   Arrested: Poe T. Thu, 19, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police on patrol responded to 911 call of an aggravated assault in progress at an apartment complex near Franklin and Curtis yesterday, August 25th, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Witnesses tell police the victim had been involved in an argument with the suspect, later identified as Poe Thu, and a juvenile male outside over an ongoing dispute. The victim tells police the suspects then left the immediate area and returned minutes later carrying two large meat cleavers to confront the victim. The victim retreated to his apartment and locked the suspects out as another witness called 911 to report the incident. Officers located the two suspects outside the victim's apartment and after a detailed investigation, they were taken into custody. The knives were recovered from a nearby vehicle. No one was injured during the incident. The adult male suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. The juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention center and booked on similar charges. 

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-901.Assault defined. An assault is: (a)  An unlawful attempt, coupled with apparent ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another; or (b)  An intentional, unlawful threat by word or act to do violence to the person of another, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, and doing some act which creates a well-founded fear in such other person that such violence is imminent.

18-905. Aggravated assault defined. An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or
(b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

   Arrested: Jeremiah T. Aguilar, 27, Meridian

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana)(m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle speeding with cancelled registration yesterday afternoon, August 25th, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near Franklin and Phillipi Streets. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 named "KC" alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 134 grams total package weight, more than a quarter of a pound of marijuana, in the vehicle. Officers obtained other evidence that indicates the suspect had been involved in the sale of the controlled substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Ethan J. Gerlach, 32, Meridian

  Charges:Possession of a Controlled substance with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana)(F)

   Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officers and Meridian Police, as part of an ongoing investigation served a search warrant yesterday,August 25th, at approximately 8:30 p.m. at a residence on the 3000 block of Thames Ave. in Meridian. Officers recovered approximately 73 grams of marijuana from the home along with drug paraphernalia, digital scales and packaging materials. Officers have other undisclosed evidence that indicates the suspect had been involved in the sale of the controlled substance. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Lisa R. Bilquist, 46, Garden City

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle stop in the middle of a crosswalk at 16th and Washington yesterday, August 25th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near 16th and State. As officers contacted the driver she indicated there may be a controlled substance in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie with a small amount of meth, 1 gram of marijuana glass pipes with residue, 3 syringes, 2 metal spoons and a hand torch. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Ardys A. Phillips, 47, Boise

   Warrant Charges:Burglary (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary yesterday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into items stolen from a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street in April of this year. Store employees tell police they witnessed the suspect conceal several items and then leave the store without paying for them. Loss prevention employees recovered the stolen items. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
