K9 sniffs out drugs on traffic stop; Weekend incident report

06-13-11 K9 sniffs out drugs on traffic stop; Weekend incident report Arrested: Kristi M. Smith, 29, Nampa

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

   Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle fail to signal a lane change and perform an illegal stop at a stop sign near Arthur and 36th  Sunday evening, June 12th, at approximately 9:00 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie containing approximately .08 grams total package weight of Meth, approximately .5 grams of marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Howard H. Snow, 41, Boise

   Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F), Stalking (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of malicious injury to a residence in the North End Saturday, June 11th, at approximately 8:00 a.m. The victim tells police the suspect threw a large piece of concrete through her front window, damaging furniture inside. The victim tells police this incident is one of several in an ongoing dispute. After a detailed investigation, officers obtained evidence of the crime and the suspect was taken into custody at his residence. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Pastor Ramirez-Delgado, 29, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Providing False Information (m), Probation Violation (m)

  Boise Police responded to a report of a collision in a parking lot Sunday morning, June 12th, at approximately 2:00 a.m. Evidence indicates the suspect backed into a parked vehicle. The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. During the course of the investigation the suspect provided false identifying information to police resulting in the additional charge. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Warrant Arrested: Timothy J. Farnham, 29, Boise

   Warrant Charges:Leaving the Scene of an Accident (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Leaving the Scene of an Accident Saturday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a collision that took place on April 25th of this year. On that date evidence indicates the suspect fled the scene of the crash at Curtis and Fairview on foot. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

 Arrested: James L. Baughman, 35, Kuna

  Charges:Burglary (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Battery on an Officer (m)

  Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 1500 block of West State Sunday, June 12th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers located the suspect and attempted to take him into custody. The suspect verbally challenged officers and refused to obey verbal commands. The suspect then physically resisted officers attempts to handcuff him, and at one point the suspect kicked an officer in the chest. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

 Warrant Arrested: Gloria S. Duran, 44, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft Friday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into items and money obtained from a Boise employer starting in February of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect used her access at a local retail store to obtain more than $2,000.00 worth of merchandise and cash. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

 Warrant Arrested: Karen L. Rapponotti, 32, Nampa

  Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft Friday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into items purchased on an employers account without authorization. Evidence indicates the suspect used a company account to purchase more than $1,000.00 dollars worth of merchandise starting in March of this year. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
